We stayed at this incredible hotel for 6 nights. We were afforded an early check-in after a long overnight flight from Canada.
Everything about our experience was amazing. Megan at the front desk is a credit to this hotel. She consistently went above and beyond for us and made our stay exceptional. Laura, the manager of Hardy’s bar was equally incredible. They are both invaluable assets to this hotel.
Breakfast was delicious and had more options than you could ever want. The location - so close to the pier and the Dart, perfect.
We loved our room and can’t wait to return.
I traveled with my teenage son, and we both appreciated this experience from start to finish, including a reserved table in front of the TV for the 6 nations match.
We look forward to returning.
Highly recommend.
Great potential, truly mediocre execution, which would be fine if we weren't paying €400 a night. Think twice about staying here if you are in a wheelchair or need a ramp.
Pros: incredible location. Spacious room. Decent breakfast. Lovely kid-friendly indoor pool.
Cons:
The fire alarm went off in our room not once but TWICE during our stay, including after the entire family had gone to bed, and during the kids nap. No explanation or apology for this was provided. We have no idea why, it seems to go off on the entire floor. Maybe someone was smoking in a room?
The bathroom floor was puffing up and the room smelled strongly of mildew/decay.
The one accessible entrance required a hotel staffer to let you in after buzzing. One evening we waited for 3 minutes (we buzzed multiple times) and no one came. Eventually we went back down the ramp and found a way with great difficulty to get up the stairs. I looked over at the entrance on our way up and I saw no one was coming, even though there were people at the front desk.
The times I called reception from the room to request something no one answered.
There is clearly potential here and the location really is terrific but management needs to rethink their staffing and operations. We make this trip yearly and have family in the area so we would have loved to make this hotel our regular stay, but will be looking elsewhere for accommodations next time.
